At Enkindle we want to provide our students with the best of everything. By using a democratic model of operation, we will be able to use parts of Montessori, Steiner, Forrest School, and many other methods of educating instead of being tied to just one. At our school, students will have a choice and a voice in their education, with parents, teachers and students collaborating to create an education plan that is best suited to each students’ needs and interests.
All Australian Schools are required to hold some testing, such as NAPLAN. As a school built on choice, Enkindle will make these tests available for all children and families that wish to participate.
Enkindle Village School is a non-profit organisation; tuition fees are used alongside Commonwealth and State funding and are set to cover the operational costs of the School. Please refer to the proposed Fee Structure for 2021 for more information.
Enkindle Village School is open to all students and operate in line with all other schools in Queensland regarding immunisation status. Immunisation records are required for school compliance with Public Health Safety regulations. In the event of an outbreak, the School will notify families which may be affected due to their child’s immunisation status
Our registered teachers will assess students through observation as well as portfolio work. These methods are an effective way of determining a student’s understanding of the curriculum content and capabilities.
Our classrooms are flexible and fluid with multi-age class groups. Students will often move between classes when needed.
Decisions like this will be made by the students; we can’t wait to find out what our student body comes up with!
Our school philosophy centres around child-centred education, because of this each day at Enkindle Village School will look different. For your reference, we have put together an approximate example of a day in the life to give you an idea. You can check it out here.
Enkindle Village School is an accredited school, approved by the New Non-State School Accreditation Board and utilises the Australian National Curriculum.
Our teaching staff are all qualified and registered teachers with experience working in Australian and Queensland schools. As part of our commitment to deliver the best educational experience for our students, teachers at Enkindle all have a deep understanding of child development theory and will receive regular professional development to further their knowledge and continuously deliver high-quality teaching.
Children learn out of interest and curiosity, so it makes sense that they have some autonomy in what and how they want to learn. We don’t all learn the same way, and don’t all find the same things interesting. At Enkindle we let our students have a voice and a choice in regard to their education, this gives them the freedom to learn the curriculum in a way that is best suited to their own interests and needs.
Interest to enrol at Enkindle Village School has been overwhelming, to add your child to our waitlist for future years, please fill out the expression of interest form on our website.
